Conference Highlights

Come to the 3rd annual Michigan Energy Fair, sponsored by the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association. In 2007 over 4,000 attendees viewed exhibits from over 100 renewable energy vendors and participated in dozens of timely workshops. 2008 plans are for both increased participation and an expanded roster of vendors. The fair takes place at the Manistee County Fairgrounds in Onekama, MI.

This three-day conference will focus on:

* current debt and tax credit equity structures for wind financing, providing a solid understanding of how deals come together;
* up-to-date information on pending legislation and current federal and state policies for wind energy;

WIND EXPO LAWEA 2008 is the first International Wind and Renewable Energy Conference and Exposition placed in Mexico and the biggest of its type in Latin America.

Wind power is on a 25% annual growth curve. Looming carbon caps will pressure munis and IOU’s to add wind to their power supply. The capital is flowing. And FERC is actively addressing transmission access; soon the grid will be able to absorb much larger volumes of wind-generated power.

This guidebook was created by Charles Kubert for the Environmental Law and Policy Center in 2004. It talks about business models, sources of equity, grant and loan programs, incentives, and power purchase agreements for community wind projects. You'll find it online on the ELPC website.
